Zachary Cain concentrates his practice in the areas of admiralty and maritime law and commercial litigation for clients in the maritime shipping and energy industries in matters that include:
- maritime casualties, such as vessel collisions and allisions
- Jones Act and Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act injury and wrongful death claims
- limitation of liability, arrest, and attachment actions
- cargo casualties
- charter party and other complex contractual disputes
Zachary routinely assists clients with responding to and investigating shipboard and marine-adjacent accidents and incidents, including overseeing and ensuring compliance with U.S. Coast Guard, Texas General Land Office, Flag State, and other regulatory agency requirements. Zachary has also assisted clients in the defense of intermodal and commercial trucking cases.
Zachary is an accomplished legal researcher and writer with significant appellate experience before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the various Texas Courts of Appeal.
Outside the Firm
When not working, Zachary focuses on spending time with his wife and young son, supporting the local SPJST Lodge in its fraternal and community service activities, and when possible enjoys escaping to his family’s cabin near the Sabine National Forest.
