Tyler J. Compston

Biography

Tyler J. Compston is a legal and land services attorney with experience in energy law, mineral rights, and complex land transactions across West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Tyler provides strategic legal counsel to energy producers and private equity clients, specializing in mineral deed drafting, title curative work, and transactional documentation.

Tyler also negotiates and drafts surface use agreements and mineral leases, conducts extensive title research, and facilitates dispute resolution between construction firms and property owners.

Prior to joining the firm, Tyler was a solo practitioner, independent landman, and an extern at a boutique Washington, D.C.-based law firm.

While in law school, Tyler served as an intern at a national law firm and an extern at the WVU Office of General Counsel and Office of Strategic Initiatives.

Outside the Firm

Tyler enjoys golfing, snowboarding, camping, and exploring West Virginia with his wife. He also rides (and occasionally races) motorcycles.
