Shakiva Brown has extensive experience in the consumer finance industry representing banks, lenders, servicers, and private investors in mortgage foreclosure, general litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings. With her passion for litigation, Shakiva has successfully obtained judgement in numerous bench trials and at summary judgement hearings.
As a member of the Consumer Finance Litigation practice group, Shakiva Brown concentrates her practice on a variety of consumer finance litigation matters, including disputes under TILA, RESPA, FCRA, ECOA, FDCPA, state law UDAAP claims, and a variety of common law claims. She represents clients in all phases of complex foreclosure litigation and general civil litigation matters throughout the discovery and trial process.
While in law school, Shakiva served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Justice Ricky Polston of the Supreme Court of Florida and served as a certified legal intern in her law school’s Consumer Law Clinic. She was a member of her school’s Moot Court Honor Board where she competed in multiple competitions and earned best oral advocacy and best brief writing awards. Shakiva graduated with high honors and an Advanced Legal Research and Writing Certificate.
