Serena S. Gopal

Biography

Serena Gopal concentrates her practice on mass torts and complex commercial litigation. Serena has experience taking cases from inception through trial and appeal, with victories at the motion-to-dismiss, summary-judgment, and appellate stages of litigation. She has experience litigating various types of disputes in state and federal court and in arbitration, such as:

  • Mass tort class actions and multidistrict litigation (“MDL”)
  • Products liability litigation
  • Trade secret and intellectual property litigation
  • Anti-Terrorism Act litigation
  • Alien Tort Claims Act litigation
  • Torture Victims Protection Act litigation
  • Consumer fraud and false advertising class action litigation
  • Commercial contract disputes and business torts
  • White collar defense

Serena maintains a diverse pro bono practice. She serves as a member of Blank Rome’s Philadelphia Pro Bono Coordinating Committee. Serena also serves on the Executive Committee of Justice Rising Advocates, an organization dedicated to advancing the mission of Community Legal Services of Philadelphia. She is an active volunteer with Philadelphia’s pro bono hub, Philadelphia VIP, previously honored as Volunteer of the Month. Her practice also includes asylum and federal compassionate release pro bono cases.

Serena twice previously served as a summer associate at Blank Rome. During law school, Serena served as an intern to the Honorable David R. Strawbridge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, She was a Philadelphia Diversity Law Group Fellow, a member of the Moot Court Board, and President of the Juvenile Law Society.
