Biography
Robyn Michaelson is a partner in Blank Rome’s policyholder-only insurance recovery practice. Robyn helps corporate policyholders maximize the value of their insurance assets, and has assisted clients obtain hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance recoveries. She counsels policyholders from preemptive analysis of coverage for potential risks through dispute resolution, litigation, and appeals.
Robyn helps clients understand and resolve coverage disputes involving all manner of commercial insurance policies, including:
- Commercial General Liability (“CGL”) insurance coverage for mass tort, environmental, personal injury tort, and product liabilities;
- Commercial Property and Business Interruption insurance coverage for fire and other losses;
- Management Liability, such as Directors’ and Officers’ Liability (“D&O”) coverage for breach of fiduciary duty, derivative, and shareholder claim liabilities;
- Pollution Legal Liability (“PLL”) insurance coverage for presence of pollutants and other environmental risks connected to ownership, rental, or operation of real property; and
- Specialized industry insurance coverages including product contamination, product recall, specialty professional liability, and aviation insurance.
Robyn has experience working with clients in a broad range of fields, including chemical and other manufacturing, religious organizations, educational institutions, banks and financial service companies, food and beverage companies, and individual directors and officers.
Previously, Robyn interned with various state and federal courts and prosecutors’ offices. From 2006 to 2007, and again during summer 2012, Robyn interned with Judge Patty Shwartz, then Magistrate Judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey (now of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit).

Affiliations
Robyn is currently working with the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, pursuing impact litigation against an online firearms marketplace on behalf of a police officer shot in the line of duty. Robyn also volunteers with the election protection hotline organized by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, which seeks to protect all eligible Americans’ right to vote.
During law school, Robyn served on the executive board of the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Center where she competed in national mock trial competitions. She also served as an associate editor of the Fordham International Law Journal and volunteered with WomensLaw.org, a project of the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
