Biography
Nicole Wentworth is a litigation associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office. She concentrates her practice on labor and employment and commercial litigation matters.
Nicole represents and advises employers on a variety of labor and employment matters. Her litigation experience ranges from single plaintiff claims to complex class actions, with an emphasis on discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour claims. Nicole also handles a variety of commercial real estate disputes, representing property owners, landlords, and tenants in various litigation matters.
Nicole previously served as a summer associate at Blank Rome, as well as a legal secretary and legal assistant for a Los Angeles-based law firm.
During law school, Nicole served as the Chief Note and Comment Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review and was actively involved in numerous programs, including the Ninth Circuit Appellate Clinic, Young Lawyers Program, and Student Animal Legal Defense Fund.
Outside the Firm
Nicole enjoys traveling, running, movies, and golfing. She is also an avid Los Angeles Chargers fan and plays the guitar and ukulele.
Experience
- Represented members of a partnership in a dispute involving the ownership of a well-known music venue and restaurant in a two-week jury trial. Obtained a favorable jury verdict and court ruling on equitable claims.
- Represented an infrastructure and telecommunications company in a successful appeal of an order denying the company’s motion to compel arbitration of claims asserted against it by a former employee on a class-wide basis.
- Obtained orders denying class certification and granting a motion for judgment on the pleadings in a Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (“FACTA”) case in favor of a retail clothing company.
- Assisted with dispute resolution efforts on behalf of numerous employers in matters involving alleged wage and hour violations on a class-wide basis, and achieved resolutions on favorable terms though direct negotiations, settlement conferences, and mediation.
- Represented employers in administrative agency proceedings before the California Labor Commissioner, Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
