Nicole Bartz Metral is an experienced litigator focusing on complex corporate and commercial cases in both state and federal courts. She has defended claims involving class actions, breach of contract, partnership disputes, unfair competition, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, business torts, general liability, consumer claims, trade secrets, labeling, and false advertising laws.
Nicole has experience in commercial real estate, representing property owners, landlords, tenants, borrowers, and property managers in various litigation matters. She represents leading real estate developers and home builders in claims arising out of the Right to Repair Act and all aspects of construction defect litigation. She also advises clients on a various risk management issues, including contract formation, insurance coverage, claim management, and dispute resolution.
During law school, Nicole served as the comments editor of the Santa Clara Computer & High Technology Law Journal, was the founder and president of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and received an award for being the outstanding graduate of her class. She also received a High Technology Law Certificate, with honors, and a specialization in Intellectual Property.
Nicole completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan where she earned a B.A. in Sport Management and was captain of the University of Michigan Dance Team.
