Mitesh Patel

Biography

Mitesh Patel advises real estate owners and developers in nationwide acquisitions, sales, financings, and leasing of multifamily properties, commercial complexes, shopping centers, single-tenant retail buildings, hotels, and motels. He also represents private lenders that provide secured financing for a broad spectrum of real estate projects.

While in law school, Mitesh was an associate editor for the Fordham Law Moot Court Board. He also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Marcy S. Friedman of the New York State Supreme Court, Commercial Division, and as president of the South Asian Law Students Association at Fordham University School of Law.

Experience

Recent representative matters include:

  • An investment bank loan originator, in an approximately $197 million securitized mortgage loan to finance the construction of an office, warehouse, and R&D campus, net leased upon completion to a large-cap company.
  • A private investor, in its acquisition and financing of a hotel valued at approximately $23.5 million and located in California.
  • A Chinese global investment firm, in its acquisition and financing of hotels valued at approximately $32 million through $46 million and located in Massachusetts and Texas.
  • A private equity fund, in its acquisition and financing of a multifamily property valued at approximately $120 million and located in Florida.
  • A private equity fund, in its sale of an office building valued at approximately $100 million and located in Minnesota.
  • The landlord or the tenant in a variety of commercial lease transactions for office and retail space.

Professional Activities

Mitesh maintains an active pro bono practice representing charitable organizations in a variety of real estate transactions on a pro bono basis. He is also a member of the South Asian Bar Associations of New York and New Jersey. In 2019, Mitesh was selected to join the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Pathfinder Program.
