Michael Pearl has significant experience advising clients on all aspects of state and local taxation, notably involving multistate tax controversies as well as consulting on tax planning and state tax implications of complex business transactions.
Prior to serving as an attorney at various Am Law 100 firms, he provided state and local tax consulting services for two major accounting firms. He also served as in-house state tax counsel for J.C. Penney Company where, in addition to state tax planning responsibilities, he handled a wide range of state tax controversies before administrative tribunals and courts.
