Michael H. Peskowitz


Michael Peskowitz has 30 years’ experience in commercial real estate finance, representing both lenders and borrowers in all types of debt and equity investment pertaining to the ownership, development, and management of real estate projects in the United States and internationally.

Michael has primarily represented large financial institutions as lenders in the origination of mortgage and mezzanine loans secured by commercial properties that are either held by such lenders or sold into the capital markets.

He also has significant experience in the purchase and sale of mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, participation interests, and mortgage-backed securities, in addition to restructuring these various debt instruments.

Outside the Firm

Michael is an avid collector of old and rare single malt scotches.


  • Representation of numerous Wall Street investment banks during the past decade in the origination of several billion dollars of mortgage loans for securitization, involving large single assets and multi-state portfolios of all types of commercial property.
  • Representation of purchasers and sellers of individual loans and portfolios of mortgage and mezzanine loans.
  • Representation of investors in loan participations, preferred equity interests, and mezzanine financing related to real estate projects.
  • Representation of real estate developers in the acquisition and financing of commercial properties, including hotels, golf resorts, office buildings, shopping malls, retail stores, and multi-family apartments.
  • Representation of lenders and borrowers in the workout and restructuring of mortgage and mezzanine loans.
