Kendra H. Merchant


Kendra Merchant advises clients on a variety of federal and state tax issues in the areas of corporate, partnership, international, and individual income tax.

Kendra has significant experience developing tax planning strategies for a variety of merger and acquisition transactions with U.S. and multinational companies, interpreting complex contractual terms related to tax matters for business combinations and dispositions, and overseeing implementation of precise tax saving structures at entity and owner level for assorted transactions.

In addition, Kendra often advises international clients on U.S. tax law compliance and strategic tax planning opportunities, provides general counsel to tax-exempt organizations on matters related to obtaining and retaining tax exemption, and analyzes federal income tax treatment arising from new markets tax credit, renewable energy, and opportunity zone transactions.

Outside the Firm

Kendra is a proud member of the Krewe of Iris, the oldest and one of the largest all-female Carnival Krewes in New Orleans, Louisiana.
