Jessica A. McElroy

Biography

Jessica McElroy handles a wide range of litigation and appellate matters, including consumer financial services litigation, consumer class action defense, real estate, trade secret, unfair competition, fraud, false advertising, and California's Proposition 65. Jessica's appellate experience also includes wide-ranging writ and motion practice in state and federal appellate courts.

Jessica also volunteers her time for pro bono matters, including asylum and real estate litigation.

Before joining Blank Rome, Jessica served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Margaret M. Mann in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in San Diego, California.

During law school, Jessica served as an executive editor of the San Diego Law Review and received the American Bankruptcy Institute Medal of Excellence.

Experience

  • Represented lender in connection with the successful defense of wrongful foreclosure and related claims following extended jury trial.

  • Represented loan servicers in connection with obtaining summary judgment in multiple actions brought under California’s Homeowner Bill of Rights and common law claims.

  • Represented credit reporting agencies and loan servicers in class action litigation, obtaining favorable settlements in cases involving credit reporting claims brought under the FDCPA and RFDCPA.

  • Represented large bank in connection with overturning key trial court judgment against bank on appeal.
