Biography
Francesco Di Pietro is a seasoned business litigator with nearly three decades of experience in litigation, arbitration, and business law. Francesco delivers strategic legal counsel to both domestic and international clients, helping businesses navigate complex legal terrain, resolve corporate and commercial disputes, and achieve their goals with efficiency and confidence.
Francesco’s clients operate businesses across a broad spectrum of industries including luxury brands and fashion, financial services, transportation, and food and beverage.
Francesco is committed to helping his clients avoid litigation whenever possible and yet serves as a steadfast advocate when disputes arise. His practice spans state and federal courts as well as arbitration forums, with a particular emphasis on cross-border litigation. Francesco is adept at managing complex cases that often extend to multiple jurisdictions, including parallel proceedings in both U.S. and European courts, ensuring that cross-border interests are addressed with seamless legal strategy.
Francesco’s extensive litigation and arbitration practice includes:
- disputes concerning commercial contracts; shareholders’ disputes, and directors’/officers’ liability;
- corporate dissolution;
- debt collection and creditor/debtor’s rights and obligations;
- enforcing, and defending the enforcement of, arbitration awards and foreign judgments in the United States;
- employment-related matters, including misclassification of workforce;
- trademark infringement and intellectual property disputes; and
- maritime, logistics, and transportation law.
In addition to his litigation work, Francesco is well-versed in the negotiation and preparation of various business contracts. He drafts and reviews licensing agreements, agency and distribution contracts, and warehousing and logistics agreements. Francesco also acts as outside general counsel to several domestic and foreign business entities with operations in the United States. He has provided legal assistance to numerous start-ups, guiding them from their inception through periods of substantial growth, always offering proactive advice tailored to the fast-evolving landscape of U.S. and international business.

Francesco enjoys car racing, boxing, street photography, and black-and-white films.
