Coe Miles concentrates his intellectual property practice on computer hardware and software patent prosecution, the technical aspects of patent litigation and analysis, and the development and management of patent portfolios.
He provides his clients with business-directed legal counsel by combining his law firm experience with his past experiences as a practicing engineer and in-house counsel for a high-technology startup.
Coe applies his electrical and computer engineering background to a broad array of technical disciplines, including the design and evaluation of computer networks, hardware and software image processing systems, operating system design and implementation, and large scale database installations and associated utilities.
Coe has been responsible for developing strategic in-house invention disclosure procedures, reviewing disclosures for patentability, patent portfolio evaluation and management, patent and technology licensing agreements, and intellectual property legal opinions. He also has extensive experience evaluating third-party infringement claims and preparing responses to same.
