Benjamin R. Reyes

Biography

Benjamin Reyes is an associate in Blank Rome’s policyholder-only insurance recovery practice.

Benjamin represents corporate policyholders in complex insurance disputes encompassing various insurance coverage issues, including preemptive coverage analysis, pre-litigation advocacy and negotiation, and litigation.

He advises policyholders on the resolution of complex coverage disputes under various lines of insurance, including commercial general liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, representations and warranties, and property and business interruption policies

Prior to joining Blank Rome’s insurance recovery practice, Benjamin also has experience with various patent litigation matters, including trial experience in front of the International Trade Commission. He has also worked with several clients on navigating false claims act civil investigations by the Department of Justice. 

Benjamin previously served as a summer associate at Blank Rome. Prior to joining the firm, Benjamin served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Judge Timothy J. Kelly at the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia and a student law clerk for the United States Agency for International Development, Office of the Inspector General in their Office of the General Counsel. Before he pursued his legal career, Benjamin served in the federal government as a senior policy and planning analyst at the agency and department level of the Department of Homeland Security where he worked in strategic planning and formulated multi-year appropriations for various information technology initiatives.

During law school, Benjamin served as a student attorney for the AU WCL Defense Clinic, a note and comment editor for the American University Law Review, and a research assistant in the areas of criminal defense. He was member of AU WCL’s nationally-ranked mock trial team where he competed in multiple competitions throughout the country and was awarded with the AU WCL Professor Anthony Morella Professionalism Award in Trial Advocacy.

Benjamin serves as a member of the Alumni Committee for The Appellate Project, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering law students of color to enter appellate practice.
