Robert P. Jacobs Elected Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel

Blank Rome Insurance Recovery Practice Now Boasts Ten American College of Coverage Counsel Fellows

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that partner Robert P. Jacobs has been elected to serve as a fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel (“ACCC”), an invitation-only organization dedicated to improving the quality of the practice of insurance law and to increasing civility and professionalism in the field. With Rob’s election, Blank Rome is now home to ten ACCC fellows, including James R. MurrayLinda KornfeldJohn A. Gibbons, Mary Craig Calkins, who is a past president of the ACCC, Lisa M. CampisiJohn E. HeintzSeth D. Lamden, Helen K. Michael, who is a member of the ACCC’s Board of Regents and Membership Committee, and Jared Zola. This notable achievement further bolsters the Insurance Recovery group’s recent industry recognitions, including being selected as a finalist for Business Insurance’s Legal Team of the Year (2021), as well as being named Benchmark Litigation’s Insurance Firm of the Year (2020), The National Law Journal’s D.C. Insurance Litigation Department of the Year (2020 and 2017), and Law360’s Practice Group of the Year (2019 and 2018).

Established in 2012, the ACCC’s mission is to advance the creative, ethical, and efficient adjudication of insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes; to enhance the civility and quality of the practice of insurance law; to provide peer-reviewed scholarship; and to improve of the relationship between and among the members of the insurance law profession. The ACCC is comprised of experienced and recognized lawyers involved in coverage and extracontractual matters and who represent either policyholders or insurers. The national organization engages in a rigorous vetting process prior to inviting a lawyer to become a fellow, with its members including many of the most prominent members of the insurance law bar. At Blank Rome, Rob represents policyholders in a wide array of insurance recovery disputes arising from product liabilities, toxic torts, first-party property loss, business interruption, advertising liability, professional liability, kidnap and ransom losses, and various directors and officers-related liabilities, to name a few. For the past several years, he has been heavily involved in seeking coverage for liabilities arising out of the life sciences and chemical industries, particularly with respect to agricultural products. Rob is a past co-chair of the Asbestos Subcommittee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee, and has written numerous articles and is a frequent lecturer on issues facing policyholders in insurance recovery disputes. He is recognized by Chambers, Best Lawyers, Who’s Who Legal, Super Lawyers, and The Legal 500 for his professional accomplishments in insurance law.
