Blank Rome partner Michelle Gervais was appointed to serve as President of the Women in Sports and Events (“WISE”) Tampa Bay Chapter—the foremost career and leadership development organization for women in the business of sports. In her new position, Michelle will lead and support an active network of approximately 350 members and maintain ongoing collaborations with the chapter’s founding partners, including the Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning; the University of South Florida Vinik Sport & Entertainment Management Program; and the Tampa Bay Sports Commission.
Since 2018, the Tampa Bay Chapter has consistently advanced WISE’s mission to empower women in the business of sports. WISE places a strong emphasis on education and peer support, aiming to deepen its members’ knowledge of the industry and enable more leadership opportunities by providing mentoring experiences for all career levels, innovative programming, professional development and training, events, and valuable networking opportunities.
“I am genuinely honored to step into the role of President for Women in Sports and Events Tampa Bay,” Michelle recently told WISE members. She continued, “As we look ahead to the coming year, I am filled with enthusiasm for the incredible opportunities we are creating together to educate, advance, connect, and empower women in our industry.”
Michelle has served as a WISE Tampa Bay Chapter executive board member since its founding in 2018. She previously served as Vice President, Vice President of Communications, and was Co-Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Ad Hoc Committee. At Blank Rome, Michelle Co-Chairs the firm’s Sports Law Industry Group and is Chair of the Florida offices.
