John Gibbons Elected Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that partner John A. Gibbons, who serves as vice chair of the firm’s nationally recognized Insurance Recovery group, has been elected to serve as a fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel (“ACCC”), an invitation-only organization dedicated to improving the quality of the practice of insurance law and to increasing civility and professionalism in the field.

The national organization is comprised of experienced and recognized lawyers involved in coverage and extracontractual matters and who represent either policyholders or insurers. The ACCC engages in a rigorous vetting process prior to inviting a lawyer to become a fellow, with its members including many of the most prominent members of the insurance law bar. Established in 2012, the ACCC’s mission is to advance the creative, ethical, and efficient adjudication of insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes; to enhance the civility and quality of the practice of insurance law; to provide peer-reviewed scholarship; and to improve of the relationship between and among the members of the insurance law profession. At Blank Rome, John focuses his national practice on advising corporate policyholders about their insurance policy rights and recovery insurance assets, either through negotiation or trial. He maintains a particularly active trial practice and also guides clients through the insurance claim process, negotiating favorable resolutions for his policyholder clients. In the past decade, John has, through negotiations, litigation, and trial verdicts, enforced clients’ rights to well over a billion dollars’ worth of insurance. John is a principal author of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Insurance Primer InfoPak, including editions released from 2012 to present. He is recognized by Chambers, Benchmark Litigation, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, Euromoney, and The Legal 500 for his professional accomplishments.
