Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that partner and Insurance Recovery group co-chair James R. Murray was named to the American College of Trial Lawyers’ (“ACTL”) Jury Committee at the 2024 ACTL national meeting. The Committee’s mandate is to undertake initiatives required to preserve and enhance the jury as a fundamental feature for the administration of justice in North America.
Jim previously served on the ACTL’s Rules of Evidence Committee for five years, as well as the District of Columbia State Committee. State Committees, along with their counterparts in Canada, are the backbone of the College and perform important work that includes the nomination of candidates for fellowship and the organization of local outreach activities.
Jim is the only policyholder trial lawyer in the country who is a fellow of the ACTL and the American College of Coverage Counsel (“ACCC”). At Blank Rome, Jim leads the firm’s policyholder-only insurance recovery practice. He has litigated cases in 24 states for top-tier corporate clients and has represented individuals and an array of religious institutions and government entities.
