Eugene J. Gibilaro Recognized in Marquis Who's Who

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Eugene J. Gibilaro has been recognized in Marquis Who's Who, the world’s premier publisher of biographical profiles.

In all of the Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals are selected to be profiled based on "position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field." Since 1899, Marquis Who’s Who has chronicled the lives of the most accomplished individuals and innovators from every significant field of endeavor, including politics, business, medicine, law, education, art, religion, and entertainment. Eugene John Gibilaro has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having practiced law for over a decade, Mr. Gibilaro has distinguished himself as a renowned attorney. Joining Blank Rome LLP in 2020 as of counsel, he has earned distinction as an expert in state and local taxation. Notably, Blank Rome LLP is a full-service American Law 100 firm that employs hundreds of attorneys who specialize in counseling clients in corporate, environmental, intellectual property and technology and, among other areas of the law, bankruptcy and restructuring. Mr. Gibilaro is affiliated with the firm's office in Tampa, Florida.

Prior to joining Blank Rome LLP, Mr. Gibilaro was an associate attorney at Morrison & Foerster LLP. He also garnered expertise with two of the Big Four accounting firms – PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young. During his tenure, Mr. Gibilaro advised private equity and corporate clients regarding such issues as state and local income, property and employment tax, and more.

Throughout his career, Mr. Gibilaro has spoken professionally at numerous conferences and before several professional organizations, including the Center for Professional Studies at New York University (NYU), the Council on State Taxation and the Tax Executives Institute. Furthermore, he has hosted free conferences through his firm for those interested in starting their own restaurant or catering business regarding their sales and use tax compliance obligations. Apart from his speaking engagements, Mr. Gibilaro has authored numerous articles in scholarly and professional journals, including the Journal of State Taxation, State Tax Notes, and TEI Magazine on various state and local tax topics.

To prepare for his career in law, Mr. Gibilaro received a bachelor's degree in international affairs at the George Washington University in 2007. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2011 summa cum laude from New York Law School and a Master of Laws in taxation in 2015 from NYU.

Mr. Gibilaro's decision to focus his practice on tax law began to take shape while in law school. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gibilaro plans to continue serving an instrumental role at his present firm. He is also considering obtaining a teaching position so that he can serve as a mentor for the next generation of attorneys.
