Blank Rome’s Kevin J. Bruno Appointed Division Director of ABA Section of Litigation

Blank Rome LLP Partner Kevin J. Bruno has been reappointed to the leadership of the American Bar Association (“ABA”) Section of Litigation, and will now serve as one of the Section’s Division Directors for the 2017-2018 bar year. In his new role as division director, Mr. Bruno will supervise 11 of the 21 substantive committees of the Section of Litigation as well as collaborate with ABA’s leaders to further the association’s goals.

The Section of Litigation is the largest section of the ABA, whose mission is to provide litigators of all practice areas with the resources needed to become successful and experienced advocates. Mr. Bruno has held various leadership positions within the Section. Most recently, in June 2016, he was appointed to a sixth term as co-chair of the Section of Litigation’s 2,000-member Environmental & Energy Litigation Committee, and he was also reappointed for a seventh term as the Section of Litigation’s liaison to the ABA’s Standing Committee on Environmental Law, now known as the Special Committee on Section, Division and Forum Coordination. At Blank Rome, Mr. Bruno co-chairs the Firm’s Energy, Environment, and Mass Torts practice group and previously served as co-chair of the Firm’s policyholder-only Insurance Recovery practice group. He has nearly 30 years of experience in complex commercial litigation, concentrating his practice in environmental and mass tort litigation and compliance counseling to a broad spectrum of industries. Mr. Bruno has also spent his career representing policyholder clients in their pursuit of claims in multiple lines of insurance recovery, and provides counseling to clients in their placement of a broad array of first party and liability insurance products.

In addition to his various leadership roles within the ABA, Mr. Bruno was appointed in 2014 as a member of the Board of Directors and treasurer of the Law Firm Sustainability Network (“LFSN”), a nonprofit organization of law firms and legal departments committed to promoting the benefits of environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility within their firms and throughout the legal industry. That same year, he was named a fellow of the American Bar Foundation in New York. He currently serves as an adjunct professor of environmental law at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
