Blank Rome’s James Quinlan Elected President of Brehon Law Society
Blank Rome Associate James J. Quinlan was recently elected as the twenty-first president of the Brehon Law Society, a role that he will serve for a two-year term. Mr. Quinlan’s predecessors include federal and state judges and leaders of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Previously, he served as the Society’s vice-president, and has also served as a member of its Executive Committee since 2005.
The Brehon Law Society is a professional association that fosters the profession of law among individuals of Irish ancestry, and provides a forum for educational, cultural, and social activities concerning Irish heritage and tradition. The Society, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, is comprised of judges, lawyers, law students, and their friends, and has over 500 members. At Blank Rome, Mr. Quinlan concentrates his litigation practice on maritime and aviation casualty and product liability matters. He was recently peer nominated and selected as an Irish Legal 100 “Irish Rising Star” by the Irish Voice Newspaper, an online publication with widespread readership in the United States and abroad. The Irish Legal 100 was started nine years ago and publishes a list of the top 100 U.S.-based lawyers with Irish ancestry. The “Irish Rising Star” designation is bestowed upon the top “40 under 40” U.S.-based lawyers with Irish ancestry.
