Blank Rome Welcomes New Maritime Associate in Houston

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Zachary Cain has joined the Firm’s Houston office as an associate in the Maritime group, which was recently named Lloyd’s List’s Excellence in Maritime Law award winner and received top-tier national and regional rankings for Admiralty & Maritime Law in the 2020 Best Law Firms survey by U.S. News & World Report – Best Lawyers.®

Zachary concentrates his practice in the areas of admiralty and maritime law and commercial litigation for clients in the maritime shipping and energy industries. He counsels clients in matters that include maritime casualties, such as vessel collisions and allisions; Jones Act and Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act injury and wrongful death claims; limitation of liability, arrest, and attachment actions; cargo casualties; and charter party and other complex contractual disputes.

In addition, Zachary routinely assists clients with responding to and investigating shipboard and marine-adjacent accidents and incidents, including overseeing and ensuring compliance with U.S. Coast Guard, Texas General Land Office, Flag State, and other regulatory agency requirements. He has also assisted clients in the defense of intermodal and commercial trucking cases. Furthermore, he is an accomplished legal researcher and writer with significant appellate experience before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the various Texas Courts of Appeal.

Zachary is admitted to practice in Texas and the Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of Texas. He earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and his B.S. in Neuroscience from Baylor University.
