Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Raymond Arroyo has joined the firm’s Chicago office as an associate in the Labor & Employment practice group. Raymond’s arrival reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to expanding its depth of talent, following the additions of partners Allison N. Powers, Daniel J. Sobol, and Brandon S. Shemtob, of counsel David G. Rodriguez, and associates Michael G. Greenfield and Derek E. Schultz earlier this year. Raymond joins Blank Rome from Proskauer Rose LLP.
Raymond advises clients on wage and hour compliance, independent contractor classifications, disability accommodations, workforce reductions, and pre-litigation risk assessments. He also brings experience conducting internal investigations and drafting litigation motions involving discrimination, labor-management relations, and employment disputes. In addition, he negotiates settlement agreements, prepares employment-related contracts, and provides strategic guidance to human resource teams and business units on compliance and risk mitigation.
Admitted to practice in Illinois and New York, Raymond received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, his M.S. from CUNY Hunter College, and his B.A. from the University of Michigan. While in law school, Raymond served as a member of the Columbia Journal of Race and Law. Prior to attending law school, he spent four years as a corps member and special education teacher for Teach for America.
