Blank Rome Welcomes New Energy, Environment, and Mass Torts Associate Melissa A. Scacchitti in Philadelphia

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Melissa A. Scacchitti has joined the firm’s Philadelphia office as an associate in the Energy, Environment, and Mass Torts group. Melissa joins Blank Rome from UGI Corporation, where she served as associate counsel in litigation and environmental law.

Melissa has experience counseling and defending clients on environmental matters and litigation, including overseeing the remediation of Superfund sites, former manufactured gas plants, and other contaminated property around the country, as well as complying with state and federal environmental regulations and statutes, coordinating site access for environmental testing and monitoring, and negotiating consent decrees and environmental easements.

Melissa manages clients, outside counsel, experts, and consultants on various environmental enforcement matters and litigation throughout the United States. She also advises clients on potential exposure to environmental disputes, necessary environmental due diligence throughout business transactions, and assists businesses in reaching and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Melissa received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and her B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Scranton. Melissa serves as a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Lackawanna County Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
