Blank Rome Welcomes New Consumer Finance Litigation Associate in Fort Lauderdale
Mr. Yanez joins Blank Rome from Shutts & Bowen LLP where he was an associate. He concentrates his practice on commercial disputes, enforcement of commercial loan documents, consumer financial services, catastrophic personal injury and premises liability actions, probate litigation, and all aspects of civil litigation. As a member of the consumer financial services team, Mr. Yanez also regularly represents lenders and financial institutions in a variety of consumer finance litigation matters in federal and state court, including disputes under TILA, RESPA, FCRA, ECOA and FDCPA, state law UDAP claims, and a variety of common law claims. In addition, he has experience working on a variety of commercial and corporate litigation matters in state and federal courts, including motion practice, depositions, discovery, pre-trial, mediations and resolutions, and arguing dispositive motions.
Admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Mr. Yanez earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, and his B.B.A., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame. During law school, he served as an editor for the University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review. Mr. Yanez has served on the board of directors of the Coral Gables Bar Association since 2013, and is a sponsor of the Notre Dame Club of Miami. He is fluent in Spanish.
