Blank Rome Welcomes New Consumer Finance Of Counsel in Philadelphia

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Jonathan F. Ball has joined the Firm’s Philadelphia office as Of Counsel in the Consumer Finance group.

Prior to Blank Rome, Jon served as counsel for LaRocca Hornik Rosen & Greenberg LLP, a boutique law firm representing clients in the New York/New Jersey region, and as vice president and assistant general counsel at JPMorgan Chase & Co. He brings more than 20 years of experience counseling clients in a wide variety of financial services matters, business and employment disputes, and class actions. As a litigator and trial lawyer, Jon has handled many novel, complex, and high-stakes cases involving extensive appellate and motion practice. He has briefed and argued over 80 appeals in state and federal courts across the country, and many more substantive and dispositive motions.

Serving as a member of the Firm’s Consumer Financial Services team, Jon will collaborate extensively with the Firm’s New York-based consumer finance team and regularly represent clients in federal district courts and state courts on a variety of consumer finance litigation matters, including disputes under TILA, RESPA, FCRA, ECOA, FDCPA, state law UDAP claims, and a variety of common law claims.

A graduate of University of Michigan School of Music and Temple University School of Law, Jon is admitted to practice law in the state courts of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits; and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of New York, and the District of New Jersey and Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Jon previously served as law clerk to the Honorable Richard B. Klein of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, and as deputy counsel to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Appellate Court Procedural Rules Committee.
