Blank Rome Welcomes Consumer Finance Associates in Cincinnati and Fort Lauderdale

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Brian S. Jackson and Shakiva L. Brown have joined the firm’s Consumer Finance group in the Cincinnati and Fort Lauderdale offices, respectively. Brian and Shakiva concentrate their practices on a variety of consumer finance litigation matters, including disputes under TILA, RESPA, FCRA, ECOA, FDCPA, state law UDAAP claims, and a variety of common law claims.

Brian represents national banks, mortgage lenders, and servicers in all phases of litigation, with a focus on contested foreclosures and lender liability actions. Brian is admitted to practice in Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. He earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School and his B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Cincinnati.

Shakiva represents banks, lenders, servicers, and private investors in mortgage foreclosure, general litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings, and has successfully obtained judgement in numerous bench trials and at summary judgement hearings. Shakiva is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Florida. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Florida Coastal School of Law, and her. B.S.W., magna cum laude, from Florida Atlantic University.
