Blank Rome LLP is pleased to share that partner Beth Bernstein Connors is participating in Diversity Lab’s Moments to Movements Hackathon, a shark-tank style pitch competition in which law firm partners and legal department leaders collaborate to solve some of the most challenging diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”) issues facing the legal industry.
Beth, along with the other participants, formed small groups in March to begin developing their pitches to offer sustainable and scalable solutions to one of the following Hackathon challenges:
- How can we defend and fortify DEI across the profession and in each organization to withstand downturns, leadership changes, anti-DEI rhetoric, and other headwinds?
- How can we improve workplace practices and processes to ensure fair and equal access to high-quality work, sponsors, and business/clients to level the playing field for all talent, including historically underrepresented lawyers?
Each team’s solutions will be pitched to a live panel of judges and an audience of over 200 industry leaders at New York University School of Law on July 11, 2024. According to Diversity Lab, the pitches will be evaluated on their potential for impact, adoption, and progress measurement. The winning ideas will be further developed by Diversity Lab and piloted with the participating law firms and legal departments.
Blank Rome has previously participated in Diversity Lab’s hackathons, including the inaugural “Women in Law Hackathon” in 2016.
