Appreciate Poetry and Support Girls’ Education with This Local Lawyer’s Book

PHL17

Blank Rome partner Anthony B. Haller recently appeared on PHL17’s “Positively Philly” with Rachel Malak and Abby Urban to share the heartfelt story behind his poetry collection, The Old Lady and The Tortoise and Other Poems, and the meaningful educational mission it supports.

Anthony originally wrote “The Old Lady and The Tortoise” as a tribute poem to his mother on her 103rd birthday. He followed it with a sequel the next year, and completed the trilogy with a final poem written as part of her eulogy—just two days before what would have been her 106th birthday. These deeply personal works inspired him to publish a beautifully illustrated collection of poems written throughout his life. Proceeds from the book support AmericaShare, a nonprofit advancing girls’ education in his birthplace of Nairobi, Kenya.
