Mark M. Lee’s law firm calls him a “problem solver.” They credit the trial lawyer with being a “relentless advocate for clients” whether he is in a trial or negotiations. The former federal prosecutor and partner in Blank Rome’s White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Group has built a highly regarded practice, and is known for doing extensive pro bono work and community service, particularly around education.

What makes you excited to come to work? Many of my clients come to me on the worst day of their professional lives. They are either facing a high-stakes government investigation or dealing with a sensitive, internal crisis with the potential to cause substantial reputational damage to their business interest. The trust that clients place in me and our team at Blank Rome to handle these matters is incredibly gratifying.

What would you say has been your life’s biggest challenge? My brother and I were raised by a single mother in Newark, New Jersey. Growing up, I knew very few attorneys or professionals after whom I could model myself. Creating a pathway to success with limited means and very few early role models has been the most challenging aspect of my life.
