If news reports are to be believed, Taylor Swift is getting married this weekend at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

Taylor got engaged last August, and it’s possible negotiations or preparations for their marriage started even before that.

“These agreements are detailed and complex, often requiring input beyond the parties,” says Ali Fishbein, partner in the matrimonial and family law practice at Blank Rome.

Non-disclosure agreements and non-disparagement clauses related to media activity, confidential business information, the scope of the prenup negotiations, etc. Some very wealthy people may act to limit their spouse/potential ex-spouse’s future media activity, public interviews, and social media use. “A confidentiality clause may be particularly important when the parties are public figures,” says Fishbein. “But such a provision would be unlikely in this case, where one spouse is known for relying on public disclosure of personal details as part of her livelihood.”
