Gildea</a>, a Litigation associate, has received a Public Interest Award from the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Large Firm Management Committee. The annual awards recognize young lawyers who have made a meaningful impact in Philadelphia through exceptional pro bono representation or public service.

Since joining Blank Rome, Tess has been a dedicated pro bono volunteer, approaching challenging matters with care and professionalism. Through the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, she helped secure a legal name change for a client with multiple disabilities who had experienced homelessness, violence, and discrimination related to her transgender identity and past felony record.

Tess has also contributed to asylum matters and helped author an amicus brief on behalf of the Council of Bishops of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in support of the City of Philadelphia’s efforts to restore the original exhibit at the President’s House site on Independence Mall.
