Blank Rome of counsel James (“Rick”) O’Neill has been named to the Virginia Access to Justice Commission’s 2026 Pro Bono Service Honor Roll in recognition of his pro bono contributions during the 2024–2025 bar year.

The Honor Roll recognizes attorneys across Virginia who dedicate their time and skills to providing legal services to those in need. Attorneys are selected for inclusion based on reporting at least 40 hours of volunteer pro bono service or making significant financial contributions to legal aid organizations. As part of this distinction, Rick is listed in the Pro Bono Service Honor Roll published in the June issue of Virginia Lawyer. He was also recognized at the Chief Justice’s Pro Bono Summit held on June 11, 2026, at the Supreme Court of Virginia in Richmond.

Pro bono service is encouraged and supported across Blank Rome through training, mentoring, and promoting a culture that recognizes the importance of ensuring that everyone has equal access to legal representation. Blank Rome’s formal pro bono policy requires that each of our attorneys and paralegals undertake at least 25 hours of pro bono service every year.
