Instead of a strict no-dating policy, companies should consider what creates conflicts of interest and craft policies accordingly, said&nbsp;Stephanie Kaplan, partner and vice chair of the employment group at Blank Rome, who represents employers. That might mean a policy that prohibits relationships in a reporting line, or one that bars personal relationships between an employee and a third-party vendor, especially if purchasing or selling decisions are involved.

"If there's a potential conflict, it needs to be addressed in some way,"&nbsp;Kaplan said.
