The effect of US State-level cybersecurity laws

This nuanced conflict between conservative and liberal attitudes (we say ‘nuanced’ because cybersecurity is not in itself a partisan subject) will also apply to emerging AI regulations. “We do expect to see a lighter federal regulatory touch with regard to the development of AI – perhaps, including revocation or partial revocation of President Biden’s Executive Order on AI,” suggests Philip N Yannella, a partner at Blank Rome, LLP. “During the next Congress, we expect that any new federal AI laws will again have a light touch,” he adds.
