Blank Rome partner Cassandra G. Mott, who serves as co-chair of the firm’s Houston office, has been named a 2024 Premier Women in the Law award recipient. The Premier Women in the Law award is presented to women attorneys who have contributed to Houston’s legal community through their professional achievement and community involvement and by actively seeking to advance other women in the law.

Given by the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.awahouston.org/awa-foundation">Association of Women Attorneys Foundation</a>&nbsp;(“AWAF”), part of the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.awahouston.org/">Association of Women Attorneys</a>&nbsp;organization in Houston whose purpose is funding pro bono fellowships and law school scholarships, the Premier Women in the Law candidates must practice in Houston or have strong ties to the Houston legal community; demonstrate outstanding professional achievement and success in their practice area through a record of ethical advocacy on behalf of their clients, causes, or organizations; and demonstrate a commitment to promoting women in the legal profession.

Cassandra was nominated for her many achievements in her practice area, advocacy for the advancement of women in both in the legal and finance communities, and her authentic spirit. As one of the leaders of the Blank Rome’s Houston office, Cassandra embodies the title through her willingness to work alongside team members in both professional and service/volunteer matters, and as an instrumental champion for Blank Rome’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

In her practice, Cassandra represents commercial banks and non-bank lenders, as well as private and public company borrowers and private equity portfolio companies, in a variety of commercial finance transactions, with a particular focus on leveraged buyouts related to acquisitions and recapitalizations, including asset-based, cash flow, and unitranche financings. According to Chambers USA, she is an “exceptional practitioner with great business sense.” Cassandra is a frequent author and speaker on a variety of secured finance and diversity, equity, and inclusion matters.

Premier Women in the Law award recipients will be recognized at the 11th Annual Premier Women in Law Luncheon on April 11, 2024, at the Hilton Americas hotel in Houston.
