It’s a layaway installment program resurrected all over again. Or is it really? Buy now, pay later (“BNPL”) loans have exploded in recent years in the consumer market as free and easy to use credit. But with all the convenience, what are the true risks and opportunities for banks and others to get their piece of the pie? Recent Consumer Financial Protection Bureau reports and insights open a path for expansion with important cautions. This session will discuss the pros and cons of entering the BNPL market and ways to mitigate compliance risks.
