A Blank Rome team secured a significant victory for our client Centurion MPP Pte Ltd. (“Centurion”) in a consolidated New York arbitration conducted under the rules of the Society of Maritime Arbitrators. The case arose from a failed cargo shipment aboard the M/V DELLA.

The dispute involved back-to-back booking notes between Centurion and Industrial Maritime Carriers, LLC (“IMC”), and another between IMC and DYLO, Inc. (“DYLO”). After evidentiary hearings and post-hearing briefing, the arbitration panel found that IMC breached the Centurion-IMC Booking Note by failing to give adequate assurances of performance and that Centurion was entitled to recover its full claimed damages.

In the Final Award dated June 26, 2026, the panel ordered IMC to pay Centurion $1,304,309.40, consisting of $781,003.33 in principal damages, $234,771.73 in pre-award interest, $238,534.34 in attorneys’ fees and expenses, and $50,000 for its share of arbitrators’ fees. DYLO was ordered to indemnify IMC for all amounts it has to pay Centurion, as well as for its attorneys and arbitrators’ fees.

The award will be published in the Society of Maritime Arbitrators award service.
