A Blank Rome team successfully secured a unanimous reversal before the Court of Appeal of the State of California, Second Appellate District, on behalf of Oliver Damavandi. The opinion was issued on February 14, 2025.

In a complex real estate dispute involving former brothers-in-law and various other parties, the trial court had issued a ruling striking down claims against individuals and entities who were alleged to have colluded with the principal defendant to strip Mr. Damavandi of his interests in certain high-end real estate projects in Malibu, California, as well as the “Bird Streets” neighborhood within the Hollywood Hills. After consideration of the papers and oral argument, the Court of Appeal unanimously ruled in Mr. Damavandi’s favor, reinstating claims against the respondents on appeal while also awarding costs to Mr. Damavandi.
