Russell Wong Receives Justice David Wellington Chew Award from the Asian Pacific Interest Section of the State Bar of Texas

Blank Rome Partner Russell T. Wong received this year’s Justice David Wellington Chew Award, the highest honor awarded by the Asian Pacific Interest Section (“APIS”) of the State Bar of Texas, which recognizes the outstanding achievements, commitment, and leadership of a lawyer who has paved the way for the advancement of other Asian Pacific American attorneys. He was presented with the prestigious award at the 24th Annual APIS Conference and Awards Gala, held on April 26, 2019, in Austin, Texas.

Established in 2002, the award was named after Justice Chew, former Chief Justice of the Eighth Court of Appeals and one of the first Asian Pacific Americans in the Texas judiciary. Award recipients demonstrate vision, courage, and tenacity in their practice, and they have made substantial and lasting contributions to the Asian Pacific American legal profession, as well as the broader Asian Pacific American community.
