The 2025 Honorable Nathaniel R. Jones Diversity and Inclusion Award Recipient
Established in 2013, the Honorable Nathaniel R. Jones Diversity and Inclusion Award is presented annually to a Blank Rome attorney or business professional who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in advancing equality and justice. The award is named in honor of Nathaniel R. Jones, a trailblazing civil rights leader, activist, and former judge who joined Blank Rome in 2002 and served as the firm’s first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer.
Jim Kelly exemplifies the values of this award across every aspect of his leadership. He has consistently modeled what it means to lead inclusively with empathy, candor, and action. Jim has championed the principle that diversity, inclusion, and belonging are not optional or parallel priorities, but integral to how we serve our clients and one another.
As co-chair of the firm’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee, Jim’s influence is evident in the culture he helps foster, the opportunities he advocates for, and the example he sets as an ally—someone who supports, amplifies, and advocates with and for others. This recognition reflects his journey, rooted in empathy, animated by action, and defined by relentless allyship.
Beyond his practice, Jim is also engaged in professional and community service. He is a long-time member of the Board of Directors of Rebuilding Together, Inc., a leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to repairing the homes of people in need and revitalizing communities through a network of affiliates across the country. Jim currently serves as a member of the Board’s Executive Committee and the chair of the Board’s Nominating and Governance Committee.
“This recognition is deeply meaningful, and I share it with my co-chairs Morgan Mouchette and Jason Kim and the entire Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee,” said Jim. “The Honorable Nathaniel R. Jones Award represents a legacy of leadership and a commitment to equality and justice that inspires all of us. It is an honor to be associated with Judge Jones’s name and the values he championed, and I am grateful to contribute to continuing that work.”

Bonnie Glantz Fatell 2025 Women’s Advocacy and Leadership Award Recipient
The Bonnie Glantz Fatell Women’s Advocacy and Leadership Award is presented annually by Blank Rome’s women’s affinity group – BR Women – in recognition of an attorney or business professional who has contributed significantly to women’s advocacy and leadership, both at the firm and in their community. The award is named in honor of Blank Rome’s late colleague, Bonnie Glantz Fatell, and is a lasting tribute to her legacy and contributions to Blank Rome and the countless lives she touched during her nearly 35 years with the firm.
Ashley Silberfeld exemplifies that same spirit of advocacy and excellence. Her colleagues describe her as the mentor everyone turns to—a steady, generous presence who always makes time for others. She is known for offering thoughtful guidance, championing her peers, and leading with empathy and integrity. Beyond her exceptional work as an attorney and mentor, Ashley’s leadership shines through in how she shows up for her colleagues, clients, and community. She leads with authenticity and creates spaces where others feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Through her mentorship, advocacy, and unwavering generosity of spirit, Ashley has helped shape a culture where women thrive. She has been a tireless advocate for women throughout her career, consistently creating pathways for others to succeed—whether by amplifying voices, supporting careers, opening doors to new opportunities, or guiding the next generation with wisdom and care.
Outside her practice, Ashley serves on the Board of Directors of Bet Tzedek Legal Services, advancing its mission to build stability and hope for communities facing structural disparities and exploitation. Her leadership is further demonstrated through her participation as a panelist in programs hosted by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as speaking at firm-wide Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) presentations. Ashley is also a devoted mother to two young daughters, volunteering at their school and sharing with students what it means to be an attorney and the importance of justice.
“I am honored to receive this award, which carries the name and legacy of Bonnie Glantz Fatell—a true champion for women and leadership in law,” said Ashley. “This recognition reflects the incredible efforts of so many colleagues who are committed to creating opportunities and fostering an environment where women can lead and thrive. I am grateful to be part of that mission.”
