Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Ira L. Herman has been honored with American Bankruptcy Institute’s (“ABI”) Distinguished Service Award, the highest accolade for ABI members. This prestigious award was presented at the ABI 2025 Annual Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C., on April 25, 2025.
The Distinguished Service Award is given to an ABI member who has made extraordinary contributions to the profession and organization, as determined by ABI’s advisory board of past presidents. Ira was recognized for his exceptional leadership as the chair of ABI’s Restructuring Masterclass, a new and unique on-demand platform designed for the busy restructuring and insolvency practitioner. Under his guidance, the platform was developed and launched successfully.
Restructuring Masterclass stands as a one-of-a-kind, permanent educational installation featuring an interactive table of contents that allows users to select topics of interest and customize their learning experience. The platform is continually updated and expanded to enhance the depth and breadth of knowledge available. It is presented by a distinguished faculty of industry masters, including judges, lawyers, financial advisors, legal scholars, and other leading professionals. These instructors cover critical concepts at all levels, ensuring that every professional involved in restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy can access the necessary information to effectively advise and represent clients.
In addition to his leadership role, Ira personally narrates the Bankruptcy Basics course, offering a clear and insightful introduction to the fundamental principles of bankruptcy law. For more information about Restructuring Masterclass, please refer to Blank Rome’s press release.
