Blank Rome’s Michael Sanders Named a Top 25 Opportunity Zone Influencer
Blank Rome Partner Michael I. Sanders was named one of the Top 25 Opportunity Zone Influencers by OZ Magazine. This annual tribute recognizes the industry’s leading and most influential Opportunity Zone professionals in five categories: attorneys, fund managers/developers, tax specialists, policy influencers, and professionals in specialized fields. Candidates were evaluated based on their vision, influence, and industry experience.
At Blank Rome, Michael leads the Firm’s Washington, D.C., Tax group as well as co-leads the Firm’s newly formed Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds group, which is composed of a multidisciplinary team of attorneys that helps individuals, corporate investors, and real estate professionals understand the legal requirements and processes to obtain tax credits, as well as techniques to ensure deferral reduction or exclusion of capital gains in Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds.
Michael is also a frequent speaker on Opportunity Zone Fund legislation, and recently released a Blank Rome audio alert on Tax Advantages for Investing in Opportunity Zone Funds, as part of the Firm’s Opportunity Zones Explained series.
