Blank Rome’s Debbie Skakel Named Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award Honoree by the City Bar Justice Center

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Deborah A. Skakel has been named a winner of the City Bar Justice Center’s (“CBJC”) 2020 Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the CBJC’s Cancer Advocacy and Elderlaw Projects. CBJC particularly praised Debbie for “generously devoting countless hours to helping clients with preparing life planning documents, especially during the outbreak of the pandemic.”

This year’s Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award honors the life-changing impact that volunteer attorneys from each CBJC project has had on the lives of clients by providing them with critical legal assistance, particularly in times of crisis. CBJC also recognizes honorees for their exceptional dedication to pro bono work and for “demonstrating the true meaning of justice for all.” The award winners will be honored at a virtual celebration on Monday, October 26, 2020.

At Blank Rome, Debbie serves as chair of Blank Rome’s Women’s Forum and co-chair of the Firm’s Corporate Litigation group and New York office. She maintains an active litigation and counseling practice and has significant experience in state and federal courts and arbitration tribunals throughout the country. In addition to her involvement with the City Bar Justice Center, Debbie is also a member of the American Bar Associate, New York State Bar Associate, and the New York City Bar Association.
