Blank Rome's Alternative Dispute Revolution Wins the 2017 Law Rocks Philadelphia Battle of the BandsHonor
Blank Rome’s own house band, Alternative Dispute Revolution (or ADR for short), recently took first place at the 2nd Annual 2017 Law Rocks Philadelphia Battle of the Bands. The concert was held on September 7 at World Café Live, and featured bands from Pepper Hamilton, Hangley Aronchick, and the United States Attorney’s Office.
The mission of Law Rocks is to promote music education for underprivileged youth and raise funds for local nonprofit organizations by combining the power of music and the generosity of the global legal community. For more information about Law Rocks, please visit www.lawrocks.org.
Alternative Dispute Revolution’s current band members include Blank Rome Associate Matthew Rubba, Blank Rome alumni Lev Kalman, Kevin Rakowski, and Ernie Atella, as well as friend of the program, Rich Ratner. The band was formed in 2013 to participate in the Fortune Magazine Battle of the Corporate Bands, where ADR was a regional finalist. Since then, ADR has become an extension of Firm’s commitment to community service. Through their participation in Philly Law Rocks, ADR was able to raise funds and awareness for the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. The band also regularly performs at United Way’s fundraisers and events, including United Way’s United2Feed event where ADR provided entertainment and energy for over 500 volunteers as they prepared over 105,000 meal kits for over 7,000 families in need.
Earlier this year, attorneys and professional staff from Blank Rome’s Princeton office participated in the United Way of Greater Mercer County’s literacy initiative, where they designed and assembled literacy kits for a local school. Additionally, through Blank Rome’s annual United Way campaign, the Firm works with local United Ways to provide critical resources to aid those in need, and invest in programs and organizations that strengthen communities and change lives.
