Blank Rome Recognized in The American Lawyer’s 2022 Pro Bono Scorecard

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that our firm was recognized in The American Lawyer’s 2022 Pro Bono Scorecard for pro bono work completed as well as dedicated hours and commitment to providing pro bono assistance in 2021, marking the third year that our firm has been recognized for its strong performance and dedication to pro bono.

In this year’s scorecard, our firm was ranked 50th nationally for pro bono services provided by Am Law 200 firms. Notably, our attorneys donated an average number of 41 hours per person. Furthermore, Blank Rome was ranked 70th nationwide among Am Law 200 firms for its breadth of commitment to pro bono service, determined by the percentage of attorneys who completed 20 pro bono hours or more in the prior year. Blank Rome has a formal pro bono policy that requires each of our attorneys and paralegals to undertake at least 25 hours of pro bono service. According to The American Lawyer, "client demand took focus for firms, which created a decline in pro bono work, both in terms of the number of total hours and the number of lawyers doing more than 20 hours each." However, the 2022 Pro Bono Scorecard still focused on analyzing "the numbers for domestic and international pro bono work" and reflecting "on the circumstances that created so much need for legal assistance."
