Blank Rome Presents Comisky Cup to Pittsburgh Office

Blank Rome’s 2018 Comisky Cup was presented to the Firm's Pittsburgh office, which had 100 percent participation in pro bono last year, with an average of 81 hours of pro bono work completed per attorney. Named in honor of Marvin Comisky, Blank Rome's first managing partner, the Comisky Cup is awarded annually to the office(s) with the highest pro bono performance at the Firm.

The Pittsburgh office handled a variety of important, compelling pro bono matters in 2018. For example, one team is now representing a woman post-exoneration in a civil rights case to recover damages for wrongful prosecution, after spending 11 years in prison for a murder she did not commit. Many of our Pittsburgh attorneys, working together with in-house counsel from PNC, volunteered to help veterans in need of military discharge upgrades, while others have dedicated themselves to helping domestic violence victims to obtain protective orders against their abusers.
