Blank Rome LLP is proud to be a sponsor of the WISTA USA 2018 Annual General Meeting, Conference, and 20th Anniversary Gala, taking place April 26–27, 2018, at the Parker New York hotel in New York City. “The Women Who Move The World” is the theme of this year’s conference, which will recognize the significant contri­butions of women in the maritime industry.

Kate B. Belmont, a senior associate in the Firm’s maritime group who serves as WISTA USA NY/NJ Chapter President, looks forward to welcoming attendees to this annual event, which is being hosted by the WISTA USA NY/NJ Chapter.

The conference is comprised of two panels, which will be held on Friday, April 27. Panel One, “Moving the World: Women Who Build, Create, and Advocate for the Maritime Industry,” will be held from 1:30 –3:00 p.m., and moderated by Christina Liviakis Gianopulos (Director of Business Development, American Ship Repair). The panelists will be Caitlin Hardy (Deputy Director of Fleet Focus, Holland America Group), Lois Zabrocky (President & CEO, International Seaways, Inc.), and Karin Orsel (Founder & CEO, MF Shipping Group).

Blank Rome Partner Jeanne M. Grasso, who serves on the Executive Committee of WISTA International, will moderate Panel Two, “Ruling the Seas: Women Who Navigate Maritime, Federal and International Law,” which will be held from 3:30–5:00 p.m. Jeanne’s panelists will be Sandra Gluck (President, GARD (North America) Inc.), Meredith Kirby (General Counsel, International Registries, Inc.), Kathy Metcalf (President & CEO, Chamber Shipping of America), and Ret. Rear Admiral Mary Landry (Independent Director and Board Member, United States Automobile Association and Score).
