Anthony will discuss the current state of U.S.-China relations following the White House’s declaration that the “post-Cold War era is definitively over” and how the two powers are entering an age of the “competition for what comes next.” He will cover the shifting geopolitical landscape, including what is driving the current trends, the multilateral partnerships forming in response to these developments, and what might come next. Further, he will discuss the policy impacts of U.S.-China relations, including with respect to:
- Export controls on semiconductors and other technologies
- Technology restrictions under the information and communications technology and services (“ICTS”) rules and the proposed RESTRICT Act
- The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act and import restrictions
- Foreign investment reviews carried out by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States
- Economic sanctions
